About QuizOntario

We are a small, independent team of educators and writers committed to making Ontario knowledge accessible to everyone.

Our Mission

Knowledge Should Be Calm and Accessible

QuizOntario started with a straightforward observation: there was no good place online to simply explore Ontario — its geography, driving rules, culture, and public systems — without being pushed toward a product, distracted by ads, or overwhelmed by information designed for test prep rather than genuine learning.

We built QuizOntario to fill that gap. Our content is written with care, reviewed for accuracy, and designed to be useful to anyone who wants to understand Ontario better — whether you arrived last month or have lived here your whole life.

There are no subscriptions. No pressure. No promises about results. Just straightforward, educational content about the province we call home.

What We Stand For

Editorial Principles

These are the values that guide every piece of content we create.

🎯

Accuracy Above All

Every fact we publish is verified against official Ontario government sources, MTO documentation, and established reference material. When something is uncertain, we say so.

🤝

Inclusive Language

Ontario is one of the most diverse places in the world. Our content is written to be accessible to readers from any background, with clear explanations and no unnecessary assumptions about prior knowledge.

🔍

Transparency

We are clear about what QuizOntario is and is not. We are not an official government resource. We are not affiliated with any licensing body. We are an independent educational platform — nothing more, nothing less.

📚

Learning Over Testing

Our quizzes are designed to build understanding, not evaluate performance. Every question includes an explanation. There are no scores to worry about — only knowledge to gain.

Accessibility First

The platform is built with semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, and screen reader compatibility in mind. We believe educational tools should work for everyone, regardless of how they access the web.

🆓

Free for Everyone

QuizOntario does not charge for access. All quizzes and articles are available without registration, subscriptions, or paywalls. Knowledge about the place you live should not come with a price tag.

Our Story

How QuizOntario Came Together

2022

The Idea Takes Shape

Daniel Park, a high school teacher in Toronto, noticed many of his students — and their parents new to Canada — had no reliable, simple source for Ontario civic knowledge. He started drafting quiz questions in a notebook.

2023

The Team Forms

Priya Mehta, a civic studies researcher, joined to expand the content. James O'Brien built the first version of the platform. The initial set of 30 geography and driving questions went live.

2024

Articles and Culture Content

Aisha Diallo joined as a community writer and expanded coverage to culture, everyday life, and Indigenous history. Long-form articles were added alongside the quiz modules.

2025

Full Platform Launch

The current version of QuizOntario launched with four topic areas, a progress tracking system, and a full editorial library. We continue to update content quarterly to reflect changes in Ontario law and public information.
